Get involved in the National Housing for Older People Awards 2011
Supported again by the Housing LIN, the Elderly Accommodation Counsel has launched its appeal to managers of all sheltered, retirement and extra care housing schemes in the UK to encourage their residents to nominate their schemes by playing the familiar card game successfully developed last year to capture the views and experiences of those playing the game.

Direct payments for health care: information for pilot sites published
Information on the regulations governing direct payments in health has been published. The document gives clear advice to help sites in the DH personal health budgets pilot programme meet the regulatory requirements. Nine sites have now been awarded powers to offer direct payments.

New Alzheimer's Society Poll Finds That 31% of People Would Not Know How To Get Support Following a Diagnosis of Dementia
The Alzheimer's Society has found that although 1 in 3 people over 65 will die with dementia, almost a third (31%) of people would not know how to get information and support if they received a diagnosis.
