The main aim of the Telecare Advisory Network is to provide for the Department of Health (DH) and DH Care Networks an integrated coordination and oversight group on the successful policy and service development, mainstreaming, research and practical application of telecare and telehealth in England. The Network is chaired by Jeremy Porteus (DH Care Networks).
As well as DH Care Networks, The Telecare Advisory Network consists of representatives from:
- Department of Health - NHS Connecting for Health, NHS PASA, Allied Health Professionals
- Department for Communities and Local Government
- Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform
- Technology Strategy Board - Assisted Living Innovation Platform
- Universities - Imperial College, Brunel, Sheffield, York
- Local authorities and PCTs - Cheshire, Calderdale, Milton Keynes, Wiltshire, London Telecare
- Other networks and organisations - King's Fund, Telecare Services Association, Telecare Knowledge Network, FAST UK, NHS Institute, NHS Confederation
- Telecare programmes for Scotland and Wales
- Telecare experts and consultants
